Health and Fitness: Lets get real.

Good Morning my beautiful people.

This post is being written at 7am Monday Morning. (enter gasps).

Anyone that knows me, would know that I’m not really a morning person, and I reallllly am not a Monday Morning person. But for the last couple of months or so, I have been sleeping a hell of a lot better, I have been getting up early feeling motivated and ready to go. I have 10x more energy than what I used to have (minus the flu right now- *cough). and just feel 100% better in myself, body and mind.

Want to know my little secret?

Of course you do.

And it is one that is not going to surprise you at all. (especially if you follow me on any form of social media- I am probably boring you all like crazy with it haha!)

It is just good ol’ fashioned exercise and clean eating.

Bit of a let down really ay?

But seriously. I have always been one of these people that exercised, you are talking to the 2x middle school girls basketball captain AND Year 8 basketball player of the year here people. No lie.

But I took it in extremes, I would run every day for about 2 weeks then never put on my trainers for a good few months. Maybe do a few squats or sit ups if I was feeling extra porky or I wanted an extra slice of pizza but yano. I never took it seriously.

Until now.

I’ve realised you don’t need to be working out every single day and starving yourself of all the good stuff in order to look and feel good.

If you do that, then it becomes a chore. You begin to hate it and then it makes it 10x more difficult to actually 1- find the motivation and 2- to actually loose anything or tone up or whatever end goal you are trying to achieve. You need to ensure that you are doing it for the right reasons, and that it is a complete change in mindset and wellbeing in order to succeed.

I work out and eat right because I love my body. Not because I hate the way it looks and want to change it.

You need to work out and understand why you want to change something about you- yes it can be that you don’t like the way you look, but you need to completely realise that just because you loose a few pounds or tone up that muffin top it isn’t going to change the way you feel about yourself, unless you start to learn to like yourself up top. Your mind can be a very powerful thing, and this is where people struggle when it comes to diets or exercise. It shouldn’t become a ‘diet’ or ‘exercise’ it should become a Lifestyle Change.

One where you can have that donut, and not put on pants all day- but tomorrow you are eating salads and are busting some sweat at the gym. It’s all about finding a balance, and finding one that works for you. You can’t just take someone else’s fitness regime and follow it to the letter- it won’t work, long term. You need to work out what works for you, in your situation and go from there. Because believe it or not over-working out is just as bad as not working out at all.

Getting fit- for your body and well-being brings a whole new world of benefits like the ones I started this post with. But believe me lovelies, it is hard work. You need to be committed and determined and realise that yes, you may slip up once or twice. But that’s life. A kid learning to walk that falls over 60 times doesn’t just give up. And neither should you.

Because if you are serious about wanting to do something. Then do something.

I have been asked on my social media if I would start documenting my journey as I go through it- and that is exactly what I am going to start doing.. Sharing with you all my healthy recipes, my exercise tips and tricks, general healthy lifestyle advice and anything that helps me stay on track, and hopefully help you guys too. So that is really what this post is about- Just a welcome to a new Series- you can see it as your own little BOOTES CAMP! (it’s Monday, that bad pun is allowed)

Because if you fully immerse yourself into a life of health and fitness, I honestly believe that you are more likely to stay on track than if you crash diet/exercise for the wrong reasons.

This has turned a little bit more deep than I originally planned. Soz.

But it is #MotivationMonday and all that good stuff- so that’s my excuse.

    Oh this is such a good idea. I’ve managed to lose some weight recently though better eating, but I really need to motivate myself to workout more.

    YOU GO GIRL! I love this post so much. I’ve been trying so hard to clean eat and be healthy just recently, but i’m lacking serious motivation. I really hope that this helps me, I will be following your journey!
