When I first started blogging, I didn’t have a clue what I was doing. From how to look after my site’s maintenance, to content creation all the way through to taking and editing photos and how to promote myself and my blog. Which made the whole experience of being a blogger super exciting and interesting as there was always something new to learn in order to get to where I am now.
I’ve now been doing it for nearly 3 years and even though I don’t know everything there is to know about my site in the technical sense I do know enough to be confident in what I am doing. So- I got comfortable. My blog became this daily chore that I could do in my sleep and my mind got lazy. I was writing the same content over and over, hitting schedule, and promoting without even thinking about it.
I was on a blog autopilot, and never really allowed myself the opportunity to challenge myself or push myself out of my comfort zone. Which resulted in beginning to neglect my blog and found love and interest in my work and relationships instead, because it was different and new and a challenge.
But something has happened over the last couple of weeks- wanting to give myself the challenge again and fall back in love with what I have for the past three years, I decided to relaunch the blog and do everything myself. From redesigning the site and branding, to pushing myself to create new content on the regular and teach myself more about photography and editing.
I have even been researching deeply about all the social media platforms and taking my PR experience and knowledge to learn how to market myself properly. The annoying thing is, I knew exactly all the ways how to PR and Market my blog to the right standard, but just never had the motivation in order to do so- but that is soon going to be changing.
Another bonus I challenged myself with was to create an eBook- which I am in the process of finalising and I absolutely love it. If you wish to get your hands on the first ever download, once it’s live just sign up to the list (Click here or on the sign up sheet down the right hand side)
So I just wanted to write this quick post to let you know how super excited I am to show you all my new blog after having it down and working religiously on it for weeks and to thank everyone who has read any of my posts over the last couple of years and to introduce you all to Amandabootes.co.uk version 2.0- So have a search around, see all the new content and then tweet me over at @amandabootes to let me know your thoughts – and of course expect some exciting new content coming your way soon!
