Current Skincare Favourites 2017

Current Skincare Favourites 2017

I am the worst person for looking after my skin, I drink my water and just hope my body can produce enough nutrients to not need any skincare products.

It’s only in the last couple of months that I have really stepped up my game and realised as much as I like to try and hide it, I’m not getting any younger, and now is the prime time to be looking after my skin if I want to be that #flawlessMILFlife when I get older.

But do you realise how difficult it is to find the right products for your skin, when you have zero clue what any of these products are or actually mean. I mean, of course I watch and read all the Beauty Blogs/Videos out there, but I’m pretty sure I don’t absorb any of it in and my knowledge is as dry as my skin. There are hundreds of different creams, serums, waters, oils, gels, waxes and God Knows what else – it’s a pretty scary minefield out there for a newbie like me – and a pretty expensive experiment to just to find the right one.

But – I think I have done it. I have found some simple products that work for me, for now – and I’m sticking to my guns with these ones until I have a little bit more expertise in the area. So if anyone fancies giving me a 101 class in beauty and skincare, hook a gal up. I’m pretty sure I missed that bit growing up, I was too busy stuffing burgers into my face and slamming a basketball into a hoop.

BRYT Skincare
First up with have BRYT Skincare, I was drawn to this company firstly due to them using all natural ingredients and secondly because their philosophy is all about investing in youthful skin, which wass exactly the saviour my face needed. BRYT Skincare combine the best-loved and documented essential oils with advanced methods, bringing the ancient ingredients into a modern world. They extract their ingredients from plants in order to cleanse, nourish and protect the skin both gently and sensitively.

I’m currently loving their:
Cleanse Foaming Facial Cleanser
Their facial cleanser does exactly what it says on the bottle – it foams, it cleanses and leaves your skin feeling refreshed and nourished. It has a slightly sweet smell, which I adore especially after a long day or to perk my skin up in the morning. You only need a small amount as this really does go the distance and is perfect for sensitive skin. It creates a light foam that helps to wash away daily grime and impurities while using olive oil to moisturise and cleanse.

Therapeutic Night Cream
The night cream contains over 95% natural ingredients and is vegan friendly. It uses essential oils such as Lavender, Shea Butter and Palma Rose which are really prominent in the scent to really nourish deep into the skin to nurture your face while you sleep. But not only does the night cream benefit the skin, it also benefits the mind as it’s therapeutic properties have a similar effect to a sleep spray. Which is a complete added 2 in 1 bonus.

Hyaluronic Nourish Serum
The day nourish serum is perfect for dry or dehydrated skin, which mine currently is sporting. It has a light fragrance containing basil, coriander, rosemary and lavender to soothe the skin and add moisture to my lack-lustre skin. I use this serum underneath my normal moisture to lock in its healing qualities and really add the plumpness back into my otherwise dry and dehydrated mess of skin.

Steam Cream:
Not only is the Steam Cream an all natural moisturiser but it also comes in adorable and customisable tins. I couldn’t help myself but to go for their brand new Flamingo design. The formula is one of a thick consistency which has been steamed rich in raw plants, antioxidants and essential oils to create this natural cream perfect for any skin type including those who are sensitive. The scent is quite strong and herb based, but soaks into the skin instantly without leaving any sticky or oily residue behind. I have been using this for a few weeks now, and absolutely adore the nourish my skin is adopting.

Bioderma:
Bioderma is one of those brands that I have always used, since I was a teenager. It’s an international recognised brand that stay true to their roots to create natural biological products that preserve, activate or restore the skin’s natural processes depending on the specific product being used.

I’m currently using two new products of there’s that I hadn’t used before. Under the Sebium range – Bioderma created a new generation of products to help oily and blemished skin. My skin is normally quite dry but during very stressful periods it can become quite difficult and blemished and oil stricken around my chin and nose.

I’m currently loving their:
Purifying Cleansing Micelle Solution
I religiously use this micelle water to take my makeup off at the end of the day. It’s light, it’s perfect for sensitive but it’s hard-wearing meaning you don’t need to scrub at your makeup to come off. It has a very fresh scent whereas I have found other waters can tend to have a very strong, overpowering and almost chemical smell to them and thanks to its Fludactiv patented sebo-correcting complex and added zinc and copper it helps to not only cleanse but purify the skin and to keep the pores from being re-clogged.

Purifying Cleansing Foaming Gel
I filter between this and the BRYT foam depending on my mood. Unlike the sweet scent on the BRYT this one boosts a very fresh scent. It’s gel base foams and lathers easily and creates a clean and fresh base on the face all while gently cleansing and limiting the formation of blemishes.

My skin has never been so blemish-free since the start of using the combination of these products.

Institut Estherderm Eau Cellelaire Spray:
Our skin goes through so much so it is super easy for it to loose its hydration and water needed to keep it looking plump and fresh and hydrated and sometimes it just needs a helping hand and a little extra boost. I absolutely adore this spray for this and for improving my skin’s overall quality and vitality on those dry days. Upon application its works like a genuine energy bomb by restoring freshness instantly. I use this straight after the gym, after long days in the office over my makeup and in the mornings after a late night for the well-needed boost.

and lastly…¬†Bio-Essence 24K Bio-Gold Water
I have been using this product for a good couple of months and I love what it does for the condition of my skin. Not only does it give me that glow that we can only hope a good IG filter will give us, but it also helps to tighten the skin and reduce pores. It’s cleverly created high-antioxidant formula contains pieces of real gold and precious herbal extracts to help nourish the skin deep within the pores and create a healthy radiant glow and the softness of a babies behind. The scent is a mixture between fresh and honey sweet and looks gorgeous on any dressing table or bathroom. It’s gold appearance definitely gives you all those royal feels.

What skincare have you been loving or looking to invest in for the winter months?
